1968 Weet-Bix : This World of Speed
This World of Speed trading card series was distributed in 1968 by
the Sanitarium Health Food Company in Australia and New Zealand. One card was included with each specially marked box of Weet-Bix breakfast cereal. A collector poster
book was available by mailing a five-cent stamp to the Sanitarium Health Food
Company office.
The collection includes an Intelsat III communications satellite. The card text
misspells the name as "Intelstat III." Six of eight Intelsat III satellite relays were successfully launched into geostationary orbit from September 19, 1968, to July 23, 1970. The Intelsat program was part of the Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT) global communication system. Each Intelsat III satellite could transmit 1,200–1,500 two-way voice channels or four television circuits.
