2013 Topps 75th Anniversary Trading Cards
Topps 75th Anniversary Trading Cards were released by The Topps Company
on December 11, 2013. The series reprints iconic non-sport cards from the
history of Topps Chewing Gum. Hobby boxes contain 24 packs with 8 cards per
pack. Each box guarantees three "Pop Culture Autograph" cards and one buyback
card.
The 100-card base set is printed on vintage card stock reminiscent of Topps
Chewing Gum cards released prior to 1991. Parallel variations are printed on a
modern white stock. Each pack includes one "Rainbow Foil" parallel card.
Randomly inserted "Diamond Anniversary" variants are numbered to 75 copies.
"Modern Gloss" parallels numbered to 10 are found in approximately 1:224
packs. CMYK printing plates are randomly inserted for each card. A sealed 1/1
blank-back parallel was sold separately by the Topps Vault.
Each 75th Anniversary box contains one gold-foil stamped buyback insert of an
original card previously released by Topps. The precise number of stamped
buyback cards has not been disclosed.
Card #14 features Mercury-Atlas 6 astronaut John Glenn. "Space Hero" was
original issued in the
1963 Topps Astronaut Pictures
series.
Card #53 features Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong. "Moon Commander!" was originally issued in the 1969 Topps Man on the Moon series.
