1975 Tip Top Bread : Sunblest Space Shot
The Sunblest Space Shot card series was distributed in 1975 by Tip Top
Bakeries in Australia. One card was included with each loaf of Sunblest Bread
from Tip Top. The British Trade Card Index reference is T14-5B. Each
card measures approximately 2.17 x 3.25 inches (55 x 82.5 mm).
The 20-card illustrated series depicts the history of space exploration from Sputnik 1 to the Pioneer 11 probe. Sunblest Space Shot includes illustrations of Yuri Gagarin, John Glenn, and Ed White. The Apollo XI illustration is based on a photograph of Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin taken by Neal Armstrong.
The "Woman in Space" illustration features a female astronaut performing an Extravehicular Activity (EVA). The first woman to perform an EVA was Svetlana Savitskaya on July 25, 1984.
