2016 Topps Heritage Baseball Trading Cards
2016 Topps Heritage Baseball Trading Cards were released by The Topps
Company, Inc. on March 3, 2016. The collection recreates the vintage design
of the 1967 Topps Baseball series. Each hobby box contains 24 packs
with 9 cards per pack. Each blaster box contains 8 packs with 9 cards per
pack. Rack packs contain 20 cards. Insert odds vary for each release.
The odds of finding a "News Flashbacks '67" insert are approximately 1:12
hobby packs, 1:12 retail packs, and 1:6 retail packs. The ten-card subset
showcases popular U.S. headlines and events from 1967.
The "News Flashbacks '67" subset includes a photograph of the Apollo 11
Saturn V launch vehicle atop of the crawler-transporter on May 17, 1969. The card text describes the unmanned Apollo 4 mission
(SA-501) launched on November 9, 1967. The three-stage rocket was designed and built under the direction of Wernher von Braun at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
"A launch vehicle developed for the Apollo space program that would
ultimately send 24 men to the moon, Saturn V was first launched
successfully in an unmanned test flight on November 9, 1967. It was
subsequently utilized a dozen more times with no loss of life."
